RIO RANCHO, N.M. -- The Rio Rancho boys basketball team won the City of Champions Tournament in Artesia over the weekend. David Patterson was the tourney MVP.

If it seems like the Rams have had a Patterson in the lineup for close to a decade, they have. David's three brothers Austin, Clay and Brady all played for the Rams.

David is a junior 6-foot-3 guard, but there are pros and cons to being a Patterson at Rio Rancho.

"You get a lot of attention but at the same time it's a lot of pressure," Patterson said. "There's this kind of expectation that you have and it's good but you still have to work hard every day and stuff."

"David is probably the tallest of the four and he's had two really good games for us and so we expect big things from him going forward," added Rio Rancho head coach Wally Salata.
