2-year-old abducted in Clayton found safe

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- New Mexico State Police have cancelled an endangered child alert for an abducted 2-year-old boy in Clayton.

Police say the child was located in Grants, New Mexico and is safe.

NMSP tweeted an initial alert  for the alleged abduction around 9:30 p.m. Wednesday night. They say the child, Jaime Smyley Overmyer, was abducted by a man identified as Levi Overmyer. 

According to state police, Levi Overmyer is the boy's father but he does not have custodial rights.
