CLOVIS, N.M. – A Clovis man, facing 25 counts of criminal sexual penetration in the first degree of a minor under the age of 13, is out on bond.

Court records show 36-year-old Oscar Villanes Jr. was booked into the Curry County Detention Center just after midnight Tuesday. Less than ten hours later he went before a judge only to be released on bond Tuesday afternoon.

According to court records Villanes Jr. has been charged with 25 counts of criminal sexual penetration in the first degree and one count of criminal sexual contact with a minor in the second degree.

The Eastern New Mexico News reports an investigation began last month after a 13-year-old girl reported being sexually abused by Villanes years earlier.  Villanes' attorney told the paper the allegations are not true.

Court records do not show when his arraignment will be held.
