Missing Gallup baby found; Amber Alert canceled

GALLUP, N.M. – New Mexico State Police say a missing 8-month-old boy who was taken by his father and believed to be in danger has been found safe. The incident had prompted an early-morning Amber Alert on Friday.

Police said the father of Tyron Denetclaw-Benally, Jr. took him late Thursday night when he was drunk following a domestic dispute. The two were found around 6:30 a.m. walking in east Gallup. 

Gallup Police Department officials are investigating the incident.
