Joshua Martinez, 32 allegedly shot his girlfriend twice in the arm and head. She then called police, who were later able to locate and arrest Martinez after securing the area.

The girlfriend was taken to Plains Regional Medical Center in Clovis. Hospital staff said the injuries are non-life threatening.

Martinez already had a warrant out for his arrest, stemming from an incident in mid-May that brought multiple charges against him, including kidnapping, armed robbery and assault against a household member.

Martinez is being held at the Curry County Detention Center on a $50,000 cash-only bond.

Clovis police are investigating the incident.
