Clovis structure fire kills 3, police say

CLOVIS, N.M. – Clovis police say a structure fire Sunday afternoon resulted in the deaths of three people, and sent a fourth to the hospital after they were able to escape.

The Clovis Police Department and Clovis Fire Department are investigating the cause of the fire, which was sparked at a “detached” building in the backyard of a residence on the 200 block of Calhoun Street. Firefighters battled the blaze and found the deceased individuals inside when it was out, police say.

They have not released the names of the victims.
