Cyclist injured in Santa Fe crash Web Staff

SANTA FE, N.M. -- A major player in international biking competitions is in serious condition after an accident Friday afternoon, according to the Santa Fe New Mexican.


The newspaper report 29-year-old Irena Ossola was hit by an SUV near the intersection of West Alameda and Quail View lane in Santa Fe.

According to the report, the driver said the sun was in his eyes. He was not charged.

Ossola recently took third in the CVR World Cup Women's Elite Finals competition in Paris.
