David Glenn Hancock, 67, of Texas and Morris Douglas Newton, 77, of Las Cruces were killed following the crash of the single-engine aircraft "in a remote, mountainous area" in southern New Mexico. Authorities haven't said if Hancock and Newton were the only passengers on that plane.

NMSP says the Federal Aviation Administration will be investigating the crash. The cause is currently unknown.
