Driver arrested after hitting 2 NMSP vehicles at DWI checkpoint

LOVING, N.M. – A DWI checkpoint being administered by New Mexico State Police resulted in the arrest of at least one drunk driver in southeast New Mexico sometime late Friday night or early Saturday morning, but it wasn't your typical DWI checkpoint arrest.

NMSP officials say no one was injured after the driver of a semi drunkenly drove into the checkpoint, hitting two State Police patrols cars in the process. That happened on U.S. 285 near Loving, New Mexico.

The identity of the driver has not been released by authorities.
