SANTA FE, N.M. -- The former state Public Regulation Commission member charged with burglary has entered rehab.

According to the Santa Fe New Mexican, the mother of Jerome Block Jr. says her son will get treatment rather than surrender to Santa Fe police.

Police say surveillance video captured block entering a timeshare on Galisteo and stealing hundreds of dollars in valuables from a suite.

Block resigned from the PRC in 2011 after pleading guilty to embezzlement, fraud and theft.
