According to the criminal complaint, Trujillo is accused of having sexual relations with a 14-year-old girl.

The AAU basketball coach, 23-year-old Marika Trujillo, faces one first-degree charge after Milan officers arrested her, the police department announced Monday afternoon. Police did not say when the alleged incident occurred, but Police Chief Pat Salazar said it happened in Milan.

The department said Trujillo is a teacher at Laguna School. Trujillo was also crowned Miss Indian University of New Mexico last year.

She is jailed at the Cibola County Detention Center in Grants. If convicted Trujillo could face up to 18 years in prison.
