NMSP: No reported injuries following Lovington officer-involved shooting

LOVINGTON, N.M. – New Mexico State Police say an officer fired a shot when a burglary suspect managed to escape while being arrested early Thursday morning in Lovington.

The shot was fired by a Lovington Police Department officer. There were no injuries, and the suspect, 18-year-old Karlo Sanchez Hernandez, was detained safely.

State police are not yet releasing the name of the LPD officer until they are finished investigating the incident.
