DURANGO, Colo. -- The brutal sexual assault of a Fort Lewis College student in Durango is headed to court.

This past Friday, authorities charged Devin Bond, James Zink and Anthony Fitts at the Sixth Judicial Courthouse for the alleged assault that occurred on Oct. 14.

According to court documents, it began when the young woman accepted an offer from the men for a ride back to the college from a party. Instead of taking her to her dorm, the men drove the car around town with a shotgun in the car and took turns assaulting her, the documents state.

The assault came to the attention of law enforcement that evening when a man reportedly called the police department, saying that Zink had stolen money from him earlier on. Using that man’s description, police tracked Zink down at the Durango Skate Park. While there, law enforcement found the three men and woman inside the vehicle, according to the documents.

When the occupants got out of the vehicle, the police report states an officer saw a look of "pure terror" on the woman’s face. She recounted what had happened to her to police.

According to the Durango Herald, the men could face 16 years to life if found guilty.
