FARMINGTON, N.M. -- The Farmington Police Department has released a lapel video from the officer-involved shooting on March 6 where a man dropped from a motel ceiling.

Andrew Rossi, 25, was wanted in by police in Ignacio, Colorado, in connection with a shooting when the San Juan County Sheriff's Office tracked him into Farmington on March 5. The San Juan County Sheriff's Office wanted him in connection to an assault with a deadly weapon.

The San Juan County Sheriff's Office tracked Rossi to a Motel 6 room in Farmington when he refused to surrender to authorities.

After a six-hour standoff, Farmington Police Department's Swat Unit stormed the room he was holed up in, only to discover he was hiding in the ceiling. Using their equipment, the unit was able to get Rossi to drop to the floor.

Upon standing up, police lapel video shows Rossi charging at law enforcement with a knife. One officer pushed Rossi away before discharging his weapon 4 times. Rossi died from this encounter.
