SANTA FE, N.M. – The time has come for New Mexicans to stuff away their misfortunes in Old Man Gloom before he is set ablaze next month.

Everyone is invited next Saturday to Santa Fe Place Mall, where they will have the opportunity to fill the Zozobra with thousands of pieces of shredded paper, from tax documents to divorce papers.

The event will be held in the mall’s food court from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., and will be followed by a pizza party.

This year’s burning of Old Man Gloom is set for Friday, Sept. 1.
