University of New Mexico football coach Bob Davie says he has talked to his coaching staff and his team about an ongoing investigation regarding the program.

Earlier in the week, school officials confirmed there is an investigation going on with the Athletics department.

The website NMFishbowl published an article saying head football coach Bob Davie was the subject of the investigation amid allegations of player mistreatment as well as allegations about the athlete drug testing process being compromised.

Following UNM 28-14 loss at Boise State on Thursday, Davie says he informed his team about the issues.

“I spoke to the coaches last night and I spoke to the team today," Davie said during a postgame interview released by the athletic department.  "I kind of went back and forth whether I should even talk to the team but I felt like I should."

Davie did not share any specific details about the investigation with the media.

UNM spokesperson Cinnamon Blair said they would not comment on the details or the individuals involved until the investigation is complete.
