ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- The House Ethics Committee dismissed a complaint against U.S. Rep. Ben Ray Lujan, D-N.M.

Lujan and other Democrats were accused of trying to raise campaign money during a sit-in on gun control. The ethics committee says that's not against the rules.

“Today the Ethics Committee dismissed the allegations against Congressman Lujan," said Joe Shoemaker, the communication for Lujan's office. "They came initially from a politically motivated complaint, filed by a partisan outside group – it was a complaint without merit, and the Committee acted appropriately by dismissing the case."
