ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Triple A baseball is known for crazy promotions, and the Albuquerque Isotopes have put together their share of unique ideas. The one they announced today is the hottest promotion they've ever had.

On June 16, the Albuquerque Isotopes will be known as the Albuquerque Green Chile Cheeseburgers. The team wanted to honor the culinary custom of New Mexico. That night, the park will sell green chile cheeseburgers and the team will wear new uniforms and hats.

"Wacky promotions, different promotions, out-of-the-box thinking are things that have been part of our industry for a long time," Isotopes general manager John Traub said. "Knowing how New Mexicans love green chile cheeseburgers, myself included, I think it's going to be a pretty good night for us."

The opponent that night will be the Fresno Grizzlies and they will wear their Fresno Tacos jerseys for a Triple A baseball food fight -- not literally … just in name only.
