ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- The Clovis football program continues to be a welcome diversion to the people of that town healing following the tragic shooting in a public library earlier this month.

The Wildcats are 2-1 on the season. First-year head coach Cal Fullerton said their season is a way for everyone to remain Clovis strong.

"Our kids are in a place where they can put the community on their backs," Clovis coach Cal Fullerton said. "We've talked about that all last week and all this week. This has to be special, and you don't want to look ahead season wise, but week to week this needs to be special for our community and something our community can come out and take pride in."
