ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Since it was announced earlier this month the University of New Mexico would get $10 million from local business owner Larry Chavez for naming rights to the basketball arena and football stadium, fans are wondering what they will call it.

The folks at Dreamstyle Remodeling have been working on that. The company wants to consider and solicit input from the community.

So, far they have received more than 400 suggestions. The most popular at this point is Dreamstyle Arena at The Pit.

The final name has not yet been determined but it will be based on fan input and what the signage design will look like.

"We love the nickname of The Pit like everyone else does, and so we wanted to make sure we involve the community and gave everyone a sense of ownership in the process as we work toward the renaming, developing the signage for the arena and the stadium," said Dawn Dewey, marketing director for Dreamstyle Remodeling.

Meanwhile, former Lobo assistant basketball coach Terrence Rencher left UNM for the University of San Diego. Torreros head coach Lamont Smith added Rencher to his staff at USD. Rencher spent the last two seasons in Albuquerque under Craig Neal.
