ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- New Mexico MMA fighter Ray Borg is making some last minute preparations for his upcoming title fight.

Borg will take on Demetrious Johnson for the flyweight title at UFC 216 on Oct. 7 in Las Vegas. They were supposed to fight earlier this month but Borg pulled out because of an illness.

He's grateful for a second chance and doesn't think the change in date has affected him.

"I would have rather fought in September but things happen for a reason," he said. "I think these extra three weeks are bad for D.J. and good for me.  We found some very good things we might have missed in previous camp."

"I think the reset on fight week where he was pulled out right before because of his illness actually helped," added his trainer, Greg Jackson. "He's looking better now than he did then.  I think just getting a little more work in, a little more polished and certainly recovering from that illness was a positive."
