Aggies resume preparations for Arizona Bowl

LAS CRUCES, N.M. -- The New Mexico State football team returned to practice preparing for the Arizona Bowl.

The Aggies will take on Utah State Dec. 29 in Tucson, Arizona. For New Mexico State, it's their first bowl game since 1960. They look at these extra workouts as an opportunity to build for the future.

"There are a lot of advantages to bowl prep," head coach Doug Martin said. "You get to work a lot with your younger players. It's like having an extra spring practice. We have to develop a quarterback for the future here and we've got some great young prospects so we're going to spend some of our time doing that."

Martin said New England Patriots wide receiver Julian Edelman will be attending the Arizona Bowl. Martin coached Edelman at Kent State.
