UNM seventh at home golf invite; NM Open underway

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- The UNM women's golf team was looking for a strong finish at the final round of the Dick McGuire Invitational.

Darian Zacheck recorded 12 birdies in three rounds this week. She finished at 2-under par and tied for fifth, six shots off the individual lead.

Oklahoma State finished on top. The Lobos were 16 shots back tied for seventh.

At the Sandia Golf club Tuesday afternoon, golfers teed off for Round One of the New Mexico Open.

There were 38 golfers in the red. Jim Knous finished up his round on fire with birdies on his final three holes. He shot a 6-under-par 66 and is tied for second.

Dylan Healey is the one to catch heading into Day Two. He has a 7-under 65.
