UNM men's basketball to host BYU in exhibition game

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – After getting approval from the NCAA, it was announced Friday that BYU will be visiting the Pit for an exhibition matchup against the New Mexico men’s basketball team.

The game is set for the night of Friday, Oct. 27th, with tipoff scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10, with proceeds going to the victims of Hurricane Harvey.

Lobo head coach Paul Weir said he wouldn’t rule out putting BYU on the regular season schedule in future years.

“Any team from either the old Mountain West or old WAC, or whatever it happens to be, I think any good rivalries for our programs are good,” Weir said. “They’re not only good for our fans. They’re good for us.”
