ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- The University of New Mexico women's basketball team held their first official practice of the fall.

This year's roster will include six new faces The Lobos return eight players from last year's team, including all-conference selection Cherise Beynon.

"Everybody was excited, even in warmup we all had smiles on our faces and ready to go," she said. "I know me, Tisha and Laneah being our last year here. So I think we were having fun today and had a good mindset coming in for our first day of practice."

Bradbury said he briefly spoke with the team about the national anthem during basketball games. Nothing has been determined about any protest by the players or team.

In other Lobo news, basketball recruit George Conditt announced Monday he will play for Iowa State rather than New Mexico. The 6-foot-11 Conditt had the Lobos among his final three schools and visited Albuquerque this past weekend.
