LAS VEGAS, Nev. -- Thursday was a big night for the New Mexico Lobos. They took on Wyoming in the Mountain West basketball tournament.

Before tipoff, Lobo Insider Lee Faria caught up excited fans who made the journey to Las Vegas. They travel in mass, prompting many to call it "Pit West."

Here's what some had to say:

"I like their chances tonight. Get the tempo up and down. The game's been pretty sluggish early so if they can get out of the box and get going -- play, lose, have fun -- I like their chances a lot."

"The Lobos' chances are 100 percent they're going to win, man."

"Woof, woof, woof, Everybody's a Lobo. woof woof woof."

"You know what? Coach [Paul] Weir has brought our team back, and we are pumped, pumped and so pumped for tonight. It's going to be fun."

"We need to pick up the pace. What was it, 119-114 against Wyoming in the last game? This is gonna be a high scoring, fast-paced game."

"We love you Lobos. Go get em."

"If it were up to me, I'd put my chips on weir all day long."

"Oh, I love him [Weir]. I think he's doing a great job. He's very fair with the boys and he supports them 100 percent, and we're very happy to have him."
