ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- Over the weekend, UNM senior Claire Lynch scored her team-best seventh goal of the season in a win over Colorado College.

It was also the 24th goal of Lynch's career, tying her for third place on the school's all-time list.

"A lot of the credit goes to my team," Lynch said. "I just happen to be in the right place at the right time to put it in the back of the net. As long as I can do that to help my team win, that's all that matters."

"The thing about Claire is Claire is really, really competitive -- highly competitive in everything she does," added head coach Heather Dyche. "She always knows the score which is something you want out of players. Some players play because they like the activity; Claire is playing because she wants to win."

The Lobos host Colorado State Friday at 1 p.m.

Meanwhile, the UNM men's soccer team cracked the top 25 in the national rankings. The Lobos are 24th in this week's United Soccer coaches poll. The Lobos host UCLA Wednesday at 7 p.m.
