ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – Lobo men’s basketball head coach Paul Weir is on the road recruiting, but he will spend much of July with his new club.

Weir said the players in his program have done a great job learning his style of play and practice. The Lobos have been soft at times over the last few years, but Weir has stresses that that’s an attitude he won’t accept.

Instead, he said he wants his teams to play with passion and grit, approaching the game in a blue collar fashion.

“I feel really, really good about their work capacity. It’s really improved,” Weir said. “Which is something I wanted to do. I think their overall commitment to a team and to what we’re trying to do has improved as well.”
