ALBUQUERQUE, N.M .— Balloon Fiesta historians have posted digital copies of past programs online.

The first program, which was given out in 1972, looked more like a hastily-organized flyer.

As the fiesta grew, so did the program. Pages were added to make room for sponsors.

In the 1977 edition, ads for Fat Humphreys restaurant and Toys by Roy enticed readers to spend money.

At the same time, tips for spectators included, "bring lots of extra film" and “keep your big bad feet off the beautiful balloons."

In 1986, folks were invited to check out the delicious Burger King and Planters Peanuts balloons.

Fast forward to 1995, when GPS tracking was the next big thing.

Beavis graced the canopy of an MTV balloon.

The 2000s brought a more modern approach to the programs.

No matter the year, one thing is clear from the programs, excitement about the balloons in Albuquerque has always been high.
