ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – An Albuquerque doctor is accused of manipulating a patient into having sex with him.

Now he's getting sued for it.

Ramon Duarte-Afara is named in the lawsuit along with Omni Medical Group and Clinica La Esperanza. A woman claims she went to the doctor for pain treatment and he kept recommending sexual activity.

At one appointment last summer, she said she finally gave in to him, and it left her in more pain.

The lawsuit states his employers should have known Duarte-Afara was sanctioned in Georgia for inappropriate sexual contact in 1989. He was also sanctioned in Michigan for misconduct in 1993.

Officials with La Esperanza said Friday he was already working for the clinic when they acquired it last year, and they stopped using his services once they learned of the accusations.
