ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. -- The Keller administration has tasked Charlotte Little as the new city clerk for Albuquerque, the mayor announced on Wednesday.
With the appointment, Little will become one of the first Native American women to lead a municipal department in Albuquerque. The city clerk is the primary custodian of municipal public records and also manages elections.
Little comes into the administration with more than 10 years of experience with tribal governments, businesses and nonprofit groups, Mayor Tim Keller said in his announcement. She worked as the tribal administrator and human resources director for the San Felipe Pueblo.
"I'm delighted to bring Charlotte on board as our new city clerk," stated Mayor Keller. "Her past experience in tribal administration and working with a host of other government agencies will be extremely beneficial in the city clerk’s office. The city is in good hands with Charlotte leading this crucial office."
