ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – A homeless veteran who couldn’t find a shelter to take him and his dog in is finally getting some much-needed assistance.
Shaun Clark and his dog Loki have found a temporary place to live.
"I had a response from a guy who is a property manager at an apartment complex and he's letting me stay in an apartment that's vacant for the time being, for about two more weeks," Clark to KOB.
Clark is a Navy veteran and has been sober for the past decade.
"Being able to get Loki inside, that means a lot to me. I don't like him being out here," Clark said.
Clark said that this temporary housing situation is giving him time to get a new ID card to apply for veteran benefits which is the first step to getting him and Loki off the streets.
Additionally, someone else has set up a Go Fund Me page for Clark and Loki.
"I’ve always said that the generous nature of the people in Albuquerque just floors me,” Clark said.
