ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - An Albuquerque man is upset after someone burned his American flag.

Mark Custodio had the flag up in his yard for two years. He doesn’t know why someone would burn it.

“[It] makes me angry, makes me heartbroken that people just hate their country so much,” Custodio said.

The Lord’s Prayer sat next to the flag, so Custodio thinks the vandal either had a problem with his faith or the country, possibly even his political opinion.

Custodio has “Pearce for Governor” signs in his front yard and on his window.

That window was also found broken.

“[It’s] saddening basically, a little bit distressed afraid that someone would be so bold to, just you know, light an American flag on fire,” Custodio said.

Custodio won’t be silenced though. He replaced the flag with an even bigger one.
