ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.- A homeowner shot and killed an apparent intruder, according to initial remarks provided to 911.

Albuquerque Police Department Sergeant Tanner Tixier said the shooting happened near Black Farm Lane Westdale Way around midnight. That's in the area of Coors and Paseo del Norte.

Officers said a confrontation occurred between the homeowner and alleged intruder before the homeowner fired a single shot.

AFR said the suspect was dead by the time they arrived.

Police released the identity of the suspect, Felix Yazzie, on Jan. 22. Police said the shooting appears to be justified. However, the case will be reviewed by the district attorney's office.
