APD investigating fatal crash involving pedestrian

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Police closed Mountain between 2nd Street and 3rd Street while they investigated a fatal crash Friday evening.


Police said that an SUV was hit by a truck at the intersection of 3rd Street and Mountain.

The truck was hit near the rear wheel and spun out onto the sidewalk, killing a pedestrian who got pinned between the truck bed and the traffic light pole. 

Police said the man who died may have been homeless.

Investigators said alcohol and speed are not factors in this crash.
