ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. — Daniel James Wood was shot and killed by SWAT officers in northeast Albuquerque Monday morning.

APD spokesman Tanner Tixier said officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Tennessee NE in response to a domestic dispute.

When police arrived, they were confronted by an armed man. The man then went back inside an apartment and SWAT teams were called in.

Neighbors said police activity in the area isn't uncommon.

"I heard a lot of things about this Central and Lomas part," said Axl Cawagas, who recently moved to the area. "It's like war zone. That's all I'm hearing-- war zone."
