They finally took him into custody shortly before 8 a.m. Authorities have identified him as Gabriel Rodriguez, 26; he is facing charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following the incident.

Court documents state Rodriguez was allegedly holding a woman hostage "by pointing the gun towards" her. He fleed into the residence around 2 a.m. when officers arrived.
