Armed robbery holds eerie parallels to incident from just days prior

ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – An armed robbery that unfolded in broad daylight Saturday has many parallels to a similar crime that occurred just this week.

On Tuesday two armed men took off with huge bags full of cell phones from an AT&T store located at Montgomery and Eubank. The store's manager told KOB he had an eerie feeling as soon as the men walked into the store.

Saturday's incident was all too familiar. A North Valley Metro PCS store was robbed by a man at gunpoint, employees say, adding to the backlog of recent robberies that Albuquerque Police say they are investigating.

Metro PCS employees said there was one customer and two people working at the time of the robbery, and no one was injured. They expect to provide detectives with video surveillance on Monday.

It's unclear at this time if the two cases are connected.
