The Mr. Fish balloon made its landing on a light pole in northeast Albuquerque, next to the Lovelace Medical Center. According to the crew, there were no injuries.

Mr. Fish balloon pilot Rubens Kalousidian, a veteran pilot from Brazil, said this is his sixth or seventh Balloon Fiesta, but it is his first time landing like this.

"I landed in this small place and then, because the wind is a little bit strong it turned the envelope over the trees," Kalousidian said.

He added, "It's exciting, but I don't like because the wind. I choose the wrong wind to land and that came to the city."

Another balloon got tangled in a power line west of Rio Rancho, in the area of 14th and Southern. The pilot and passenger fell from the balloon but suffered non-life-threatening injuries. The gondola and balloon both caught on fire and were damaged.

There were also reports of another downed balloon in Rio Rancho that got snagged by a tree.

Balloon Fiesta officials said there was another balloon that may have clipped a cable line in the North Valley, but there were no injuries or damage.

Despite the hard landings, Kalousidian said he is impressed with the people helping pull off the Balloon Fiesta.

"Here is very nice to fly. The people is very nice. I think it's a good place to fly and a good Balloon Fiesta," he said.
