ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – The Bernalillo County Sheriff’s Office says their deputies fired at least one round Sunday as they worked to take two men into custody.

The shooting happened in the parking lot of the Carpenters Union Training Center just off I-25 on Pan American Freeway.

According to BCSO, deputies responded to a report of a suspicious vehicle near 2nd and Osuna around 2:30 p.m. Sunday. When deputies attempted to make contact with the driver, the driver of the vehicle refused to comply and reportedly drove toward deputies in a threatening manner, prompting a pursuit when the vehicle fled the scene.

The pursuit ended in the parking lot of the Carpenters Union, where shots were fired.

BCSO says there were no injuries to deputies or suspects. The occupants of the vehicle were then taken into custody.
