It was first spotted around 2 p.m. Wednesday, near Eubank Blvd and Central Avenue. It was sitting in a tree before officers with the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish tranquilized it.

The 200-pound bear fell to the ground and was carted off. It will be released back into the wild.
