Bernalillo County to swear in new fire chief

BERNALILLO COUNTY, N.M. - Bernalillo County will officially swear in its new fire chief today.


Last month, county commissioners unanimously approved Greg Perez to lead the department.

He began his career as a volunteer firefighter and EMT with the Village of Los Ranchos until eventually becoming Chief of that department from 2005 to 2009.  

In 2009 BCFD took over the Los Ranchos department and Perez was named battalion commander and later, interim chief in 2017.

Perez will officially be sworn in this morning at Fire Station number 38 off of Prince Street in southeast Albuquerque.
