ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - The flyover ramp from I-25 southbound to I-40 eastbound was closed for several hours Friday morning following an accident that involved a Texas-bound semi hauling 90 cows.

Police say the semi, coming from Nebraska, rolled over on the overpass, killing two cows at the scene. The rest were taken to EXPO New Mexico, where another two had to be put down.

Another truck has since arrived to take the cows the rest of the way to Texas.

"It should have been a whole lot worse, and if it wasn't for the hard work of the first responders, Livestock Board, APD, AFD, State Police, it could have been so much worse," said Dan Mourning, EXPO New Mexico general manager. "We're really glad to see they got taken care of."

The driver of the semi is OK.
