His casket was on board a flight from Albuquerque to Atlanta that was scheduled to land around 9:30 p.m., Eastern Time.

Abdul-Ghani Wahhaj was reported missing in December.

Authorities say his father, Siraj Ibn Wahhaj, said he was going to take Abdul-Ghani to the park, but never returned. Instead, prosecutors said Siraj Ibn Wahhaj brought Abdul-Ghani to live on a compound in Taos County.

Siraj Ibn Wahhaj and four other adults were arrested after a raid on the compound on August 3.

The adults were charged with child abuse because there were 11 children found living in squalor conditions.

More charges could be filed after the office of the medical investigator determines how Abdul-Ghani died.
