ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Police blocked off a section of northeast Albuquerque and put a hospital on lockdown for a brief time Saturday evening due to a bomb threat in the area of Wyoming and Constitution.

According to Albuquerque Police, officers were called to the area Saturday evening in reference to an armed robbery. Police say Daniel Ramirez walked into the Circle K at Wyoming and Constitution with two backpacks, claiming there were explosives in them.

Police closed off the area around 9:15 p.m. and put Kaseman Hospital on lockdown while they rendered the bags safe.

According to online court records, Ramirez has a criminal history dating back to 1993 that includes aggravated battery and armed robbery. He faces charges of armed robbery and giving, sending or placing a hoax bomb after Saturday's incident.
