EL CERRO MISSION, N.M. - The Valencia County Sheriff's Office confirms a child was abducted Friday evening.

Authorities say the 9-year-old boy was taken from his yard in El Cerro Mission.

The boy was able to escape by getting out of the vehicle and running home.

The suspect is described as a Caucasian male in his 20s. The boy told deputies that the man was wearing a red jacket and a baseball cap. He also said the man had a red sedan.
