ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.— A man has been arrested for breaking into the Elks Lodge in Rio Rancho.

The manager of the club said Roger Montano was caught in the act.

“You just feel violated,” said Dale Carrier, manager of the Elks Lodge.

The Elks Lodge raises money for local groups, but Carrier said that money will now go toward repairing damages.

Montano was previously arrested for a similar crime in Albuquerque. He was freed and given conditions of release, which he violated after failing to appear for a pre-trial hearing.

Rio Rancho Police credit the arrest to a speedy response time. Officers were on the scene within five minutes of being dispatched.

Still, Carrier said he's sick of seeing repeat offenders bouncing in and out of jail.

“This has got to change,” Carrier said.
