ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. – There's a tricky yet exciting aspect to the broadcast journalism industry. When we get into this business, we know we're probably going to be moving to a lot of places for jobs.
Many faces on your TV through the years moved on for various reasons. Some leave the business while others go to a bigger market or decide they want to be closer to family. But the latest person to leave is departing for a unique reason.
Caleb James will hit the road to produce a weekly online show called "The Greatest of Us."
"What if instead of chasing down bad people, I put myself out there and found some good people and had some real honest conversations about life and how to live it," he said.
Caleb's passion is telling stories. It's one he's had since he was a kid, but now he's literally taking his storytelling show on the road.
Every Thursday, Caleb will post a new episode. He'll have no road map and no plan. It'll be him, his Airstream and his loyal canine pals, Wilma and Buddy.
His hope, besides telling great stories, is we get to learn about life right along with him.
"This show is about this thing that happens to all of us and this experience we all have – which is, at a certain point, if you need help, if you're in a bind, if you're stuck, you're going to have to ask somebody," he said. "And usually that person is going to be within arm's reach, right? It's going to be a stranger. At some point, we all have to reach out to somebody we don't know and ask them for help or for advice."
