ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Criminals are making visitors feel unwelcome in Albuquerque.

Lisa and Brett Turanski's new RV was broken into while it was parked at the Flying J on 98th Street.

The couple had flown into Albuquerque from California to purchase the RV.

"It didn't totally register right away what happened right away but it was like, 'OK we got robbed," Brett Turanski said.

They say crooks took everything, including Brett’s pistol.

"Now there's a pistol running around Albuquerque that wasn't there before," Brett said.

While they say a return visit to Albuquerque is unlikely, they admit that crime can happen everywhere.

"The reality is we have the same stuff happening out here, it just happened to us in Albuquerque for us, that's all," Brett said.
