ALBUQUERQUE, N.M. - Calvary Church will soon set up shop in a busy shopping center on Albuquerque’s west side.

KOB reported on the church’s purchase of the former Hastings location on the northeast corner of Coors and Montaño.  That had some area neighborhoods up in arms over traffic and noise concerns.

In late February, Calvary filed an application for conditional zoning use in order to have a church on the premises.  That application has been approved.

The approval came with conditions including having to comply with City of Albuquerque’s Noise Control Ordinance and Traffic Code.

Opponents have until March 22 to appeal the decision.  If no appeal is made by that time, the church may begin to file for building permits.
